WHO WE ARE

The Mind-Body Institute Gen-Do promotes Gen-Do as “an embodied-mindful way of moving” in the world. Gen-Do means “a path to embodiment” in Japanese. In order to live an embodied life, we first have to unlearn, and, then re-educate ourselves
how mind, body, and world co-operate at a deeper level.

This holistic way of looking at things embraces the unconscious part of our lives, aspects of ourselves that society has taught us to ignore – leading to alienation and disconnection. As a result, we live in the world of stress and chronic pain. Gen-Do teaches us how to transform stress and eliminate chronic pain through the practice of mindful embodiment.

GEN-DO PRINCIPLES

BENEFITS OF GEN-DO

  • Substantial reduction of stress.
  • Higher productivity at work and in life.
  • Expanded capacity to see the wider context while focused on a specific thing.
  • Enhanced injury recovery.
  • Improved structural integration of the body leading to improved core strength.
  • Movement becomes light with a sense of ease.
  • Gain a deeper focus and foundation of all other physical activities.
  • Learn to be present in every moment.

The Mind-Body Institute promotes the Gen-Do embodied approach to life as much as possible. All our programs are designed to (1) unlearn what we think we know, and (2) to re-learn what the body already knows through intellectual understanding and experiential practice.

We love innovation, especially blending it with our “calling”.
